Ariel Gail
Professor Gail S. Goodman holds an Distinguished Chair in Psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. Her name has been recognized for pioneering the study of child witnesses and eyewitness memories in legal settings. Professor Goodman is a prolific writer and has been awarded numerous grants, and was awarded numerous international and national prizes. She has provided consulting on research and policy to numerous agencies and government departments around the globe. She currently serves as consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center located at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a part of a variety of professional organizations that include Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is a member of Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children (Founding member) International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as director of three divisions (Division Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice Division, American Psychology Law Society as well as Division Developmental Psychology) and one section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
