Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shankar is a British-American sitarist and musician. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield in the year of her youngest and also the first female recipient. In addition to the nine Grammy awards and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to perform in the live ceremony. Anoushka is the emerging star of Indian sitar. She is a student and child of Ravi Shankar. She was born London in 1982. In her first years she split in London New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years old. In the following years she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school, graduating with distinction in 1999.
